While some types of bath salts, such as Pink Himalayan salt, can be used for cooking and seasoning, it is important to note that not all bath salts are food-grade and should not be used for consumption. It is important to to know that bath salts and table salts are not the same. Table salt ( the generic white salt in most pantries) is mostly made up of sodium chloride, while bath salts are a combination of different minerals, such as magnesium, potassium and calcium. Bath salts are designed to dissolve in water and be used for therapeutic purposes, such as soothing sore muscles or promoting relaxation, while table salt is used primarily for cooking and seasoning food.
